Futura happens to be one of my favorite sans serif typefaces out there. I was instantly drawn towards its geometric form & timeless appeal. Its applications in today’s world are limitless & it was most certainly ahead of its time when it was created by Paul Renner & released in 1927. I designed this poster in order to showcase Futura’s many weights, highlight its geometric forms, & inform the viewers about its history by weaving an informative visual experience. The giant F-shaped silhouette was, as Bob Ross would put it, a “Happy Accident”. The thin horizontal & vertical lines further reinforced the design with a futuristic look & feel & introduced another level of depth into the composition.
